FOP is an integrated team of filmmakers, scientists and environmentalists.
|
We combine
to develop environmental films, print and interactive media with a mission. Our work aims to promote sustainable living in a fragile environment that is the Planet Earth.

“Good ideas change the world, but only if they are shared.” |
FOP knows how to translate ideas into the most appropriate medium for their audience. We do not just make movies - we conceptualise, research and produce content ready to be communicated. |
|||||
“Sustainable development is based on a profound understanding of how things work. This means an understanding of systems and the relationships between and within them." |
FOP works in close synergy with our sister company, EcoAfrica, an environmental and development consultancy with its ear on the ground. Our work is informed by the experience-based understanding that EcoAfrica has of community involvement in environment. Thus our films and books educate and drive change by presenting facts with maximum impact .See www.ecoafrica.co.za for more information on the projects we are mutually involved in. |
|||||
“Respect both nature and people.” |
It takes all parts to make the whole. FOP believes in an integrated approach to conservation - we understand that people are part and parcel of the environment. The stories we tell reflect this diversity and we frequently become closely involved with local communities where we work so we understand their needs and can assist them accordingly. Contact us if you would like to learn more of initiatives such as the Richtersveld Film Project where international TV content is being produced by FOP together with local people, in the richest biodiversity desert on earth. |

“Love for things.” |
FOP has a passion to show the rare, the beautiful and the precious aspects of life on Planet Earth. We have filmed and photographed in some of the remotest locations earth - Aldabra, Ankarana, the Masoala Peninsula, the Richtersveld, the Namib Sperrgebiet, the coastal regions of Angola and the heart of the Okavango delta. Click here to learn more about the documentary series we have produced for the BBC, Discovery Channel, the SABC3 and one-off films that were screened on National Geographic and some of the world’s most prominent networks. |

“ICT - the great equaliser." |
Communication through digital media can help to fight poverty by bridging the knowledge divide, but only if means to the media are made accessible. Learn more here about our involvement in interactive projects such as the DLIST website - an online forum and learning tool where everyone from fishermen to government ministers discuss the Benguela Current Large Marine Ecosystem - and the issues pertinent to the communities who depend on it for their livelihood. |
